In 2010, I began a series of paintings of monsters I call "joyful figures". The feeling I wanted to convey was a mix between cute and disturbing.
Trees come up often in my painting as well. They represent a type of history for me, having roots in a place.
A trip to New York city has also inspired a series of paintings of cities and skyscrapers.

Some of my paintings have other elements collaged onto them, from foam pieces to paper to sand and leaves. I like to add unique textures to my work this way.
